Silver Stick Makes Donation to Wingham Minor Hockey
Wingham Regional Silver Stick Chairman, Jason Goodall, left, presents WMHA President Lee Watson with a cheque from the 2016 Midget & Atom tournaments.  Silver Stick has been a tremendous supporter of WMHA over the years, donating thousands of dollars.  These donations help to keep Wingham's minor rates some of the lowest in the region.  Goodall thanks the continued support of the tournaments many sponsors, volunteers and the public in general for making the tournaments such a success.  From the 2016 tournaments, 3 of 4 winners in the B & C Divisions won their International tournaments.  Great hockey in SW Ontario.

Hanover Atoms Win International "B" Tournament
Congratulations to the Hanover Atoms on winning the International Silver Stick in Forest on Jan. 22.  Hanover rolled over the opposition outscoring them by a 35-5 margin!!  A very dominant performance.

Midget Regional Winners Win International Tournament
The Wingham Regional Silver Stick would like to congratulate both Minto and Kincardine Midgets on winning the International Silver Stick 'C' and 'B' championships in Forest on Jan. 8.  Thank you  for representing our Tournament so well.

Atom Tournament Has Very Exciting Finals
The Atom "B" and "C" championship games were both excellent games.  Hanover outlasted Saugeen Shores 2-1 in DOUBLE overtime to win the "B" division.  South Bruce defeated TCDMHA 4-3 in the "C" final.  In Consolation play, Listowel defeated Kincardine 1-0 in "B" while Seaforth won 7-6 over Minto in a back and forth game.  Hanover and South Bruce will move on to the International Silver Stick in Forest in January 2017.  Congratulations to both teams on winning their divisions, and thank you to all the participating teams.  Click the link below for photos.

2016 Midget Tournament Wrapup
Another very successful Midget Silver Stick wrapped up on Nov. 20 with Kincardine and Minto winning the "B" and "C" divisions respectively.  Kincardine defeated a stubborn Ayr team 2-1 in an exciting overtime game to win the championship.  Minto downed Shelburne 4-1 in the "C" final.  Both teams will now travel to the International Silver Stick tournament in January 2017.  Congratulations to both teams.  Click the link below for pictures of opening ceremonies and winning teams.

  Wingham Regional Silver Stick Donates to Wingham Minor Hockey

Accepting the donation is Mike Mulvey, Wingham Minor Hockey President from Grant Currie of the Wingham Regional Silver Stick committee. This was the 30th Anniversary of hosting a midget and atom silver stick in Wingham.

The tournaments are a tremendous fundraiser for Wingham Minor Hockey allowing them to offer free registration for all first time registrants. It also allows Wingham Minor Hockey to maintain one of the lowest registration fees in the area. The Wingham Silver Stick Tournaments have become a huge community event, with local businesses purchasing program ads and having promotions and events during both tournaments
