Tournament Rules

Tournament Rules - 2023-2024
1. Only approved roster sheets will be accepted.
2. Only 19 players per team are allowed to dress for a game (17 skaters and 2 goalies).
3. Periods: 1st -10 minutes stop time 2nd- 10 minutes stop time 3rd- 15 minutes stop time
4. If there is a 5 goal differential in the 3rd period time will not stop, if the differential becomes less than 5 during this period it will return to stop time.
5. In seeded and playoff games sudden death overtime will be played as such: 20 minute periods 3-on-3 until a goal is scored. If a team is penalized in overtime , or carries a penalty or penalties into overtime, the opposing team will add a player or players.
a. The penalized player will return to the ice at the end of the penalty, and play will return to 3-on-3 at the stoppage of play.
b. **** Only Championship Games will have unlimited overtime periods at 5 on 5 strength. Regular penalties apply.
7. All suspensions and ejections will follow OMHA guidelines.
8. In the event of similar uniforms, the home team (white) must change sweaters and wear those supplied by the Silver Stick committee.
9. Exception to #7 above. Any player assessed either a gross misconduct or a five -minute major for fighting will not be allowed to play in the remainder of the tournament.
10. Be prepared to be on the ice 20 minutes before your scheduled start time.
11. All disputes will be considered by the tournament committee. Their decision will be final.
12. Seeding Criteria for 3rd round:
a. Points, based on win - 2 pts, tie - 1 point, loss - 0 pts
b. If tied, goals for / goals for + goals against
c. If tied, goals against
d. If tied, goals for
e. If tied, fewer penalty minutes
13. Please check www.watfordsilverstick.com for all 3rd round match ups when second round is complete.
14. One 30 second timeout will be allowed for all games, including round robin games.
