THE CHAMPIONS ARE CROWNED
The first ever "A" Silver Stick Qualifier in Collingwood wrapped up Sunday with great hockey.

The day started with a 2-1 victory by Centre Wellington Fusion to take the U11 title.  The winner came with just over a minute remaining from Sydney Heasman.
Game two continued where game one left off when it came to excitement.  The Orangeville Flyers scored 3 in the second half of the third period to break open a tight contest and assist goalie Nolan Wood in the 4-0 victory of Erie North Shore Storm.
In the third game the U15 title went to Centre Wellington Fusion when they made the second period goal by Josh Miller stand up to edge Woolwich Wildcats 1-0.
A dramatic finish to the tournament in game four as Christain Morneau scored on a penalty shot with just over 2 minutes remaining in regulation to give Riverside Rangers a 2-1 win in the U18 final.
The winning teams earn automatic berths in the International Silver Stick finals in January.  The U11 and U18 winners are off to Sarnia.  The winners in U13 and U15 go to Port Huron, Michigan.
Silver Stick Collingwood continues with the expanded Houseleague/Local League qualifier the weekend of
December 9-11th with 32 teams trying to earn a spot in the International Finals in Pelham.
