BOB MERKLEY MEMORIAL REGIONAL SILVER STICK TOURNAMENT 2024
This is your invitation to attend the Annual Bob Merkley Memorial Regional Silver Stick Tournament in Midland, Ontario. It is sponsored by the Midland Minor Hockey Association.
Silver Stick works under a Regional concept. Midland has the privilege of hosting a Regional Tournament for Major “B” teams within Central Region. This designation has now been changed to Tier 1 instead of the old designation of "B"
Our dates this year for the U15 & U18 Divisions will be Friday, Nov. 29tth, Saturday, Nov 30th and Sunday, Dec 1, 2024.
The dates for the U11 & U13 Divisions will be on Friday, Dec 6th, Saturday, Dec 7th and Sunday, Dec. 8th, 2024
All games will be played at the North Simcoe Sports & Recreation Centre, Len Self Blvd, Midland. This facility has 2 regulation ice surfaces the M.M.H.A. rink and Centennial rink.
There will be 12 teams accepted into the U13, & U18 Divisions, three groups of four (4) teams in each division. In the U11 & U15 Divisions there will be 10 teams accepted. Each team is guaranteed three games, which will be in Round Robin Format. The top team in each of the three groups will advance, along with the team that has the next highest point total from the remaining teams.
There will then be two (2) semi-finals on Sunday morning, with the winners advancing to the finals on the Sunday afternoon of your respective weekend.
Winners will receive Regional Silver Stick Championship Banner, keeper trophy, Pins, Hats and Gold Medallions, with the runners-up receiving a Banner & Silver Medallions.
Champions will advance to the International Finals in Forest, Ontario.
U15 & U18 – Jan. 10th – 12th, 2025
U11 & U13 – Jan 24th – 26th, 2025.
The entry fee will be $1260.00 per team. There is no admission fee for spectators at anytime throughout the Tournament.
To enter our Tournament please go to the Silver Stick website at www.silverstick.org then click on Canadian Regionals, then on Central Region. Then chose the Midland Regional tab once there select the register tab at the top of the page and follow the prompts.
Refund policy: If you withdraw from the Tournament after being accepted, there will be an administration fee of $75.00 deducted from your entry fee up until November 1st. Any time after November 1st no refund will be given.
Any team having to withdraw from the Tournament due to Covid 19 and has provided documentation to substantiate the withdrawal will be given a full refund. As well, if for any reason the Tournament is unable to run a full refund will be provided to any team registered in the Tournament
