Opening Ceremonies Details:
LOCATION: Pelham Meridian Community Centre, 100 Meridian Way, Pelham Ont. ( Hwy 20 and Rice Road)
DATE: Thursday, January 9, 2020
TIME: 5:00pm to 9:00pm
( note buses are scheduled to start leaving approx. 8:00pm or just past , for Niagara Falls and St. Catharines Hotels)
Transportation:
We Go bus ( extended public transit buses) will be available for those staying at one of the tournament hotels : ONE bus to cover the Holiday Inn and ONE bus to the Best Western in St. Catharines and TWO buses will cover each of the Hilton, Sheraton and Marriott Hotels in Niagara Falls. This is a first come first serve basis. Buses to begin arrival at hotels at 4:30pm and at 5:00pm where there are two. The bus will say WE GO on the side and will indicate it is for the Silver Stick. It will load out front of the hotels.
Parking:

There will be shuttle buses from the Old Arena at Haist Street, The St. Alexander Church Parking Lot and the Municipal parking lot at Town Square
Food and Beverage will be available: There will be food kiosks set up throughout the event areas offering snack items, pizza, hot dogs and drinks
There will be bar service in the main lobby, in the upper lobby and inside the Accipiter arena
Please bring Canadian Cash when possible, Debit and Visa available at the Bar Ticket area and the main lobby concession. There is no ATM in the building.
Agenda for Event:
Coach check in: 5:00 to 6:00
We ask that ONE coach/or assistant coach from each team check in at the Information Booth on the main level so that we have you listed for the Parade of Champions. Please come with the name of ONE TEAM PLAYER representative that will accompany you in the Parade
We will give you instructions of where and when to assemble for the parade
Pin Trading : 5:30 to 6:30
This will happen in the Gym area. Players are encouraged to spend time meeting other players and trading Pins.
During this time noise makers will be provided to the players..one to each player to cheer on their team coach and captain as they are called to the ice.
Opening Parade of Champions: 6:30pm will assemble and start about 7:00pm
Coaches and Team Captain/Team Player Representative will be asked to go to Accursi Room on the second level to get in the Parade procession
The Coaches and team captain will be escorted to their entry point on to the ice and will be announced as they enter the main ice surface. The ice surface will have carpets laid out along the boards and across ice for the parade onto the ice.
The Opening Ceremonies will begin with the piping in of the flags, the national anthems and then the Parade of Champions on to the ice surface. There will be some short speeches and then the official puck drop.
For those that wish to stay longer, you can continue to socialize at the event until 9:30pm
