The Wingham PeeWee team has had a great start to 2018.  On Jan. 7 they captured the International Silver Stick "C" title in Forest.  Defeating Stayner and Bowling Green before dropping a 3-1 game to East Lambton in the round robin, the team bounced with a 5-1 semi-final win over Tweed.  That set up a rematch with East Lambton in the final.  Up 2-0 in the third, Wingham let East Lambton back in and they tied the score at 2.  Wingham went ahead by 1 only to have EL tie it again.  Going to overtime, on the powerplay, Wingham ended it quickly to take the title 4-3.  Wingham also placed 4 players on the tournament All-Star team.

The Wingham PeeWee Rep team captured the "C" championship at the Kincardine Silver Stick tournament on Dec. 30. The team posted a 5 game winning streak at just the right time, defeating Dundalk, Shallow Lake, Blyth/Brussels and West Grey before winning 3-2 in overtime against Minto to claim the title.  The team will now travel to Forest Jan. 5-7 for the International tournament.
The Wingham Novice team also had a good tournament.  They won 3 games, but lost to the eventual champions, Hagersville, in the semi final.
Congratulations to both teams on great showings.
