Aston, PA Regional Silver Stick Tournament Rules
Squirt, PeeWee, Bantam

  • Teams will play a minimum of 3 games and a maximum of 6 games.

  • All game lengths will be three 13 minute periods (13-13-13).

    • All games will start following a 3-minute warmup. 

  • All games are sanctioned by USA Hockey

  • The clock will run during the third period of any game where the goal differential is 6 or more. 

    • Stop time will resume in the third period only if the goal differential becomes 5 or less. 

  • PENALTIES

    • 2:00 for Minors

    • 5:00 for Majors

    • 10:00 for Misconducts

      • Any player who receives 5 penalties in a game will be ejected from that game and is also suspended from the following game.  If a head coach receives 15 or more penalties in a game he will be suspended for the following game. 

        • Any player who receives a major penalty under the guidelines of USA Hockey Rules, i.e. fighting, spearing, kicking etc. will automatically be ejected from the remainder of that game in which the infraction occurs. 

           

  • Rosters are frozen the first day of the tournament.  A player on the roster MUST play in at least 1 game prior to quarter final & semi-final & championship games to be eligible to play in semi-final & final games. 

  • Points System is as follows:

    • 2 Points for a win.

    • 1 Point for a tie

    • 0 Points for a loss.

  • In the event of a tie for a playoff position, the following criteria will be used to determine the team’s placement.

    • Heads to Head (Only if two teams are tied)

    • Goals Against

    • Goals For

    • Least Penalty Minutes (Total for all Round Robin Games)
       

  • Teams must be prepared to begin a game 15 minutes ahead of scheduled start time.

  • The Tournament Coordinator will do his or her best to honor any request and has the final ruling on all issues.  No protest or appeals will be honored.
