Game Play and Advancement

 

 

1.     Tournament format is a three game round robin in all A & AA divisions. AAA is a four game round robin. Quarter Finals in Atom A andAtom AA.

 

2.     Length of games:                         ATOM:              10 stop   15 stop   15 stop

                                                MIDGET:           15 stop   15 stop   flood  15 stop

 

                        Overtime willONLY be played in playoff round (No OT in Preliminary round).

 

3.    There are no time-outs allowed

 

4.     Please be ready to play Fifteen minutes prior to game time. Your game will start NO EARLIER than 15 minutes prior to posted game time

 

5.     Atom / Squirt is a no hit division. This is by OHF/CHA rule.

 

6.     Standings will be based on points.  Win = 2 pts.  Tie = 1 pts.  Most points advance.Plus Minus Maximum of + or - 5

 

7.     Tie Breaker:

 

                                          i.    Most points in division

                                         ii.    Head to Head if ONLY two teams are tied

                                        iii.    Goals for divided by the total of goals for and against. Highest percentage      moves onward.

                                        iv.    Fastest goal in FIRST game of tournament

                                         v.    Best 3 of 5 ROCK PAPER SCISSORS between the 2 managers

 

8.     Overtime format for Quarter Final, Semi Finals and Championship Games:

 

                                          i.    Overtime will be 3 skaters on 3 in period lengths of 5 minutes until a winner is declared (SUDDEN VICTORY)

                                         ii.    Penalties: Offending team will place man in the penalty box but continue with 3 skaters.  Non-offending team will add 1 skater (power play – 4 on 3). 

                                        iii.    When the penalty has expired, the penalized player will rejoin the play and both sides will play 4 on 4 until a stoppage in play.

                                        iv.    Teams will return to 3 on 3 at the first stoppage in play.

 

 

9.     Referees are governed by the Canadian Hockey Association

 

10.  There is no admission charge for the games.
