New Format for Michigan Silver Stick Regionals
The International Silver Stick® tournament is one of the greatest traditions in youth hockey across North America. The Regional International Silver Stick® Tournaments in the State of Michigan are excited to announce some changes for the Regional Tournaments:
· Two divisions at each age level that will be set-up depending on the competitive level of the team.
o Silver Division: Would be reserved for Tier II MAHA teams that compete in the top tier (LCAHL teams in the Yzerman and upper Howe division).
o Green Division: Would be reserved for Tier II MAHA teams that compete in a division of LCAHL teams in the lower Howe and Lidstrom divisions
· Each division winner will receive an invite to attend the International Silver Stick Finals in a skill and age appropriate division. The ISS Finals is made up of teams that have won their respective Regional tournament from across North America.
· All youth hockey players should have the opportunity to compete and win the most prestigious trophy in youth hockey.
All Tier II MAHA teams are encouraged to register for a Regional Silver Stick tournament in Metro-Detroit (St. Clair Shores) or Mid-Michigan (Midland).
Attention all A and AA teams:
Per International Silver Stick rules, we are required to place teams within our region (districts 5-8) first before placing out of region or out of state teams in this tournament. If you are an out of district team, you must also include a release or rejection from your local tournament director allowing you to apply outside of your region by the application deadline.
