2023 REGIONAL
TOURNAMENT RULES
Sanctioned by the OMHA and OMHA rules apply.
Specific and additional rules that apply to this tournament are as follows:
1. Upon completion of the tournament schedule, no alterations will be made.
2. Any team unable to attend, without giving sufficient notice to allow for said Association to find a replacement in your team’s absence will forfeit their registration fee and will have additional administrative fee of $100.
3. Any team unable to play, for any reason, will forfeit that game resulting in a 2-0 loss.
4. Team officials are required to check in 45 minutes prior to their first scheduled game. The tournament Director and or Delegate(s) will be at the registration desk upstairs of the arena.
5. Present all APPROVED ROSTERS showing APPROVED "AP" players and travel permit at the registration desk. Home teams will wear white jerseys, away teams will wear dark jerseys.
6. All teams must be dressed and ready to play 15 minutes prior to scheduled game time.
7. Any player or team official incurring a match penalty, a gross misconduct penalty, or a game misconduct for fighting will automatically be suspended from further tournament play.
8 Each team will play 3 games against the other pool in their division. The teams will be ranked from 1st to 6th, based on points from Round Robin Play. The teams that finish 1st and 2nd will play each other to determine the Champion.
9. Scoring in Round Robin will be as follows:
2 pts for a win, 1 pt for a tie. 0 for loss.
If team(s) are tied by points in their group of 6 after Round Robin, ties will be broken in order of:
1st. Fewest total goals Against
2nd. Most total goals For
3rd. Fewest total penalty minutes
4th. Shortest time to score 1st goal in team’s 1st game.
10. The tournament Director or delegate will make the final decisions in any tournament matters.
11. The referee's decision on the ice is final.
12. Participant Pins, Championship and Finalist awards are limited to 20 per team including team officials.
13. One 30-second timeout is allowed per team per game.
14. In the event of a tie in a championship game, a 5-minute stop time sudden victory overtime period will be played. Teams will change ends, same end as they were in the second period.
Ø If still tied after 5 minutes of sudden victory, a shootout will decide the winner — Teams will use 5 different shooters (cannot be players removed from the game or a player that was still serving a penalty at the end of the overtime). This will consist of one player from each team simultaneously attempting to score on the opposing team’s goal tender at opposite ends of the ice.
Ø If still tied, the shootout will continue, and from this point on the teams may use any of their players except for the before mentioned exclusion for the remainder of the shootout. Winner will be decided when a shooter unsuccessfully scores when the opposing team has successfully scored at the same interval.
15. If at any time in the 3rd period the goal differential reaches 5 goals, the clock change to run time. If the goal differential is reduced to 3 goals, there after, the clock will revert back to stop time.
16. At any time, the Silver Stick Director/delegate can and will remove any player, parent, spectator from the arena building for misbehavior, verbal abuse, fighting or disrupting the tournament.
