Special Achievement Awards
These awards are presented annually for outstanding achievements during the tournament.

Bob LeClair Memorial Trophy:      Donated by the Bluewater Referees Association and is awarded to the U11/10U Team displaying the honourable qualities of good discipline, attitude, ability and conduct, as well as general all around good sportsmanship throughout the Silver Stick Finals Tournament in Sarnia, Ontario.

 

2023 Winner:       Centre Wellington Fusion U11/10U A

 

Lyle Kirk Memorial Trophy: Donated by the Kirk family and is awarded to the U18/18U team displaying the honourable qualities of good discipline, attitude, ability and conduct, as well as general all around good sportsmanship throughout the Silver Stick Finals in Sarnia, Ontario.

 

2023 Winner:       Welland Tigers – U18/18U A

 

Ron Savage Memorial Plaque:        This Plaque was donated to the Sarnia Silver Stick Committee by the Don Savage family in memory of their son RON who died of injuries from an automobile accident while playing U18 Hockey in the Sarnia Minor Hockey Program.

 

Most Valuable U18/18U Player of the Tournament

 

2023 Winner:       #25 Aaron Becker of the Mississauga Terriers U18/18U AA

 

Tom Norris Memorial Trophy:       This trophy was donated to the Sarnia Silver Stick Committee by the 1950-51 Sarnia Junior Sailors Hockey Club which Tom was the Manager, and who brought the FIRST Junior ‘B’ Championship to the City of Sarnia.

 

Most Valuable U11/10U Player of the Tournament

 

2023 Winner:       

#6 Sawyer Gedanitz of the North Bay Trappers U11/10U AA team. 

 

John Slobodnik Memorial Award: Awarded to the U18/18U team with the fewest penalty minutes throughout the tournament.

Richmond Hill Stars U18/18U A team.

 

Kathy Graham Award:         Honouring longtime volunteer and supporter of the Silver Stick Finals Tournament in Sarnia, this award is presented to the leading scorer in each of the U11/10U ‘A’ and ‘AA’ divisions.

 

2023 Winners:      U11/10U A Christian Rutgers of the Essex-Southpoint Capitals with 12 points (9 goals)

U11/10U AA Jackson Lindeman of the Metro Jr. Jets with 15 points

 

Ray Downie Award: Honouring longtime volunteer and supporter of the Silver Stick Finals Tournament in Sarnia, this award is presented to the leading scorer in each of the U18/18U ‘A’ and ‘AA’ divisions.

 

2023 Winners:      U18/18U A Christian Morneau of the Riverside Rangers with 11 points
