2015 Tournament Rules
1. Hockey Canada rules, OMHA regulations and the OMHA Manual of Operations shall apply to all teams, In addition to these rules, complying with the rules of the International Silver Stick Hockey Association;

2. “FIGHTING” is not allowed in Silver Stick any player receiving a fighting penalty is out of the tournament.

4. No time outs are allowed in any round-robin tournament games, except 1 -30 second time out per team per game in Semi Finals & Finals

5. Forfeited Games will be recorded as a 1-0 win for team present.

6. Overtime will only be played in quarter final, semi-final and championship games. Overtime games will flood after 2 overtime periods.

7. Standings will be based on points. 2 points for a win, 1 point for a tie.

8. Tie breaking in round robin standings will be based, in order, on:
A- The head to head record involving teams tied (if only 2 teams tied, see B for more than 2 teams)
B- The best ratio of: (in all round robin games.) Goals for / Goals for + Goals against
C- The team with the most goals scored.
D- The team with the lowest number of penalty minutes (misconducts count as 10)
E- A toss of the coin by tournament chairman or designate.

9. For all final round games, the placement of teams and designation of home & visiting teams will be made by the tournament chairman on the basis of the team record as determined by rules 8 & 9. Wild-card teams always place after division winners.

10. Overtime in final games shall be conducted in a series of 10-minute sudden victory over time periods. During all these overtime periods, teams will play with 3 skaters plus a goalkeeper. Substitutions are allowed. When a penalty would result in a team having less than 3 skaters, the penalized team shall play with 3 skaters and the other team shall add one (or two) player(s) for the duration of the penalty, returning to the proper number of players at the first stoppage in play following the expiration of the penalty.

11. The team manager or coach must check-in at the tournament office (Cobourg Community Centre) one hour before their first game with their team list (signed by the District Convener). Teams may change their roster at this time, provided they have acceptable documentation. Teams may register their full team roster. Teams must have original signed documentation for all affiliates. Teams must also have as required travel permits signed by their centre president or convener.  Teams not playing their first game at the CCC will be required to sign in immediately following their first game.

12. Games may start early, and teams, must be prepared to go on the ice, 20 minutes before the scheduled game time. Undue delay could result in a delay of game penalty against offending team.

13. Teams are asked to leave their dressing room in a neat and clean condition within 30 minutes of the conclusion of the game.

14. No more than five team officials on the game sheet or bench.

15. Tournament Committee reserves the right to make any and all decisions regarding tournament operations or interpretations of the rules and all decisions will be final. Protests will not be allowed.

16. By submitting your roster the players, & team officials releases the Northumberland Stick Committee and Northumberland Minor Hockey from any liability for any injury or accident going to or from or during the tournament. Your signature also acknowledges that you have read and understand the Tournament Rules.
