Regional Hockey Tournament

 

Tournament Rules

 

1)         All CHA. / OMHA rules apply.  In addition, any player receiving a major penalty for fighting or any match penalty or gross misconduct shall be suspended for the remainder of the tournament.  Any player receiving two majors in the tournament will be suspended for the rest of the tournament.

 

2)                  The mandatory use of a mouth guard product for each player participating in an OMHA game shall at all times while engaged in play on the ice surface wear an intra-oral mouth guard that conforms to the specifications set out by the OMHA.  All teams, even those outside of the OMHA are encouraged to comply with this rule.

 

3)                  Any player, coach, manager or trainer found to be making a travesty of the game shall be expelled from tournament play.

 

4)                  Any player, coach, manager or trainer found to be abusive toward ANY TOURNAMENT OFFICIAL, PARTICIPANT OR VOLUNTEER will be expelled from further tournament participation.  Further, any attempt by any team official, player or parent to verbally or physically intimidate any game official, tournament participant or tournament volunteer will result in expulsion from the tournament of the entire team.  The final decision regarding expulsion will be made by the Tournament Director and will not be negotiable once made.

 

5)                  Approved O.M.H.A. or ALLIANCE HOCKEY certified rosters will be required as proof of the players eligibility. These rosters must be presented to tournament officials before the first game. No player will be allowed to play without such evidence of eligibility. Only players listed on the official team roster  submitted at the start of the tournament will be allowed to participate in the tournament.

 

6)                  Teams must report to the dressing room forty minutes prior to the scheduled game time. All teams are must be prepared to play 15 minutes in advance of scheduled times if tournament conditions permit. Teams unable to make the scheduled starting time shall forfeit the game.

 

7)                  Teams must remain in the dressing room until the Zamboni has left the ice and the gates have been closed.

 

8)         All games are 10-10-15 minute periods, stop time. No overtime in round robin Games.  Elimination game, Semi-final and Final games will have 10-minute sudden victory periods, in the event of a tie, until a winner is declared.  The first overtime period shall be played four-on-four with a goalie.  Should additional overtime be required, it will be played four-on-four with a goalie.  One 30 second time-out per team will be allowed only in the elimination, semi-finals and championship games.  There is no time out allowed in the round robin games.

 

9)         In the event teams are tied in points at the end of the round robin, standing will be determined by the first of the following to produce a winner.

 

a)                  The result of the game between the tied teams. Does not apply if a three way tie exists.

b)                  Least goals against across all preliminary games

c)                  The difference in goals for and against across all preliminary games

d)                 Least penalty minutes

d)                 Fastest goal in the first game of the tournament.

e)                  Coin toss

 

 

10)       The first team listed shall be the home team and will wear white or light colour

jerseys. The second team listed shall be the visitors and will wear dark colour sweaters.

 

11)       The use of air horns, sirens is strictly prohibited.

 

12)       The tournament director reserves the right the make all decisions regarding tournament rules, regulations or protests.
