One “B” and 2 “C” Division teams from the Wingham Regional tournament travelled to Forest for the Atom International Silver Stick this past weekend. Unfortunately the teams ran into some tough competition. Kincardine, representing the “B” Division had a win and 2 losses in round robin play, but fell 4-3 to Elmvale in the semi-finals. TCDMHA(Chatsworth area) and Blyth/Brussels represented the “C” Division. Both were 0-2 in round robin until they had to play each other, with TCDMHA taking a 3-0 win. Neither team moved into semi final play.

The Wingham Regional Silver Stick sent 4 representatives to the International Silver Stick in Forest on Jan. 8-10. Tavistock and Saugeen Shores; winners and runners up in the "B" as well as South Bruce and Wingham in the "C" divisions.

The 2015 Atom tournament wrapped on December 6. Kincardine took the "B" Championship with a 2-1 victory over a very competitive BCH team. In "C" play, TCDMHA (Chatsworth area) defeated Blyth/Brussels 5-2.

2016 Tournament Dates Set

The dates for the 2016 Wingham Regional Silver Stick tournaments have been set as follows.
Midget - Nov. 14-20
Atom - Nov. 28 - Dec. 4

Wingham Regional Silver Stick Donates to Wingham Minor Hockey

Accepting the donation is Mike Mulvey, Wingham Minor Hockey President from Grant Currie of the Wingham Regional Silver Stick committee. This was the 30th Anniversary of hosting a midget and atom silver stick in Wingham.

The tournaments are a tremendous fundraiser for Wingham Minor Hockey allowing them to offer free registration for all first time registrants. It also allows Wingham Minor Hockey to maintain one of the lowest registraiton fees in the area. The Wingham Silver Stick Tournaments have become a huge community event, with local businesses purchasing program ads and having promotions and events during both tournaments
